Some of us (those who do not have a pre-trip look and see plan) are already on their way Chile for #ibmcsc Chile. With Travel and transit times in cases extending beyond 40 hours for few, it will give you an idea of what this travel is going to enthrall for us.
Am already at my first transit point - Amsterdam after over 8+ hours of flying (about 20+ hours are still left). Choice now is to catch some sleep or head out and I would prefer to do both, starting with the former. Anyways, journey has thankfully been uneventful so far, but had some extended packing time by usual standards - little over 2 hours. It was rushed as was late returning from office, but all was still over in time.
At the Airport in Delhi, check-in was smooth but surprisingly Immigration and Security both had long queues this time. Took about an hour closing both, when earlier used to walk through these in less than 15 mins. In between Immigration and Security, customs took a few minutes, but not a hassle at all. Now, customs for exiting out? Well, had to get some items endorsed so that its looged and there is no tax on importing these back :)
At security, all was fine except one, was asked to remove a packet of specific spices that was requested (cause it contained among other ingredients, Chilli powder. Security is concerned that it may be used as a kind of agent and hence security threat. Phew parted with two boxes, guess should have checked in, but then this is one of the perils of doing all your shopping and travel planing in 2 days, as was in Riyadh just before. I know, someone in team would not be happy with this, but could not help much on this.
Anyways, have already checked in to a transit hotel to catch some sleep, before heading out. Will try and post some pics soon. Adios
