Amsterdam was my first stopover, with flight landing a bit ahead of schedule and temperature at landing being 5 Celsius. The kind of stuff I like. Had a few hours to around the place. After a quick check-in, a short nap and a shower was out.
This short trip out also included a Dutch meal at a local kitchen which was decent. Shortly it was time to head back to the Security and board the next flight to Paris. In the interim came across this food court, where the shop headers / signboards were devoid of normal colors and it was standardized. Yes there was separate plaque having smaller logo's for all franchises at one place and also on material outside, but this was different than what I usually see in India.
Anyways on the way to the flight boarding gates, came across two observatory platforms (in Schipol) fitted with telescopic lenses, marked points for visitors to enjoy. This was good, but too early for star gazing as it was just about 5:00 PM.
Now on-board flight with a cloudy sky, am heading to Paris, where would be joined by Julia and Deirdre, coming from Berlin and Dublin respectively. Short flight, landed at CDG at about 7:00 PM with a few hours to the next flight. While clearing the passport control did someone who resembled Julia, but wasn't sure she is Julia, so decided to wait till we get back in and reach the boarding gate to check. Back close to the boarding area close to dinner time, and was able to connect to Deirdre first. She SMSed post landing and hence was easier to connect right in time for a quick bite before boarding the long haul. Post that we decided to head to the gates and look for Julia. First instinct was to call, but then saw the same person as in passport control, hence decided to check. Thats how we bumbed into her.
Quick chat a round of introductions and we were boarding the flight. This one is a long haul. 3rd flight am boarding when the calendar still was reading 8th March, but not within the 24 hour window - its all the beauty of our timezones.
Calling this long haul, just transatlantic is an understatement, its crossing Atlantic a bit diagonally yes, but then it criss cross the South American continent and lands in Santiago after more than 14.5 hours, on the other side of the continent. Anyways - we are on the way and will post this once i have reached Puerto Montt for #ibmcsc Chile.
